PAYMENT - The NET BALANCE is DUE upon completion of the job.
- Payments for jobs lasting multiple days are made at the end of each day’s work on the job.
- ANY payment not made upon completion of the job is a LATE PAYMENT.
- LATE PAYMENTS and BOUNCED CHECKS are subject to a TWENTY FIVE DOLLAR AND ZERO CENTS ($25.00) late fee.
- UNLESS ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE WITH AND ACCEPTED BY 1CM, PAYMENTS NOT RECEIVED WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS, including late fees, will be subject to 1.5% interest per month, the collection will be handed over to an agency, consumer credit bureaus will be contacted, and the customer will be held liable for all collection-related costs.
- ALL CHARGES ARE PAYABLE before the property is relinquished cash, cashier’s check, money order, personal check (from a local financial institution).
- Time spent waiting for the customer to retrieve funds from an ATM, bank or other remote location must also be billed, as the company must continue to pay for the employees and other resources tied up for that time.
- Payment is handled separately from claims. Payment is made upon completion. Claims, if any, must be processed.
CUSTOMER’S DECLARED RELEASE VALUE AND LIMIT OF MOVER’S LIABILITY - All moving service rates are based on a released value of property, which the customer must declare in writing.
- Per industry standard, the declared value of the property does not exceed 60 cents per pound per article.
- This means the customer will receive a maximum of SIXTY DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS ($60.00) for damage to a 100 pound item.
DAMAGE, RELEASED VALUE, LIABILITY AND PROTECTION - 1CM employs professional movers and takes precautions to avoid damage, which is rare though it does happen.
- 1CM can only reimburse according to basic release value terms.
- 1CM must come to the residence, place of business, or place of move (preferably) the day before to wrap and pad all items which the customer deems important or fragile or said items will not be covered by 1CM’s insurance. (Cost of Wrap & Padding is $1.00 per item)
LIABILITY EXEMPTIONS - The releases value and other protection coverage notwithstanding, the Customer exempts and indemnifies 1CM from all liability for the following: damage incurred before or after handing by 1CM; items packed by the customer; items constructed with particle board; items requiring special crating/packing (e.g. crystal, paintings); undisclosed High Value Articles (worth more than $100 per pound); items moved at the customer’s request under conditions not advised by the mover; damage caused from liquids leaking from the customer’s containers, furniture or equipment; damage caused from hazardous materials among the customer’s belongings; plants; “Acts of God”.
CLAIMS - To make a claim, avoid moving, altering or discarding the damaged item.
- Notify 1CM immediately and allow 1CM to investigate the damage and arrange reparations.
- Failure to follow this procedure will prevent your claim from being accepted.
PROPERTY DAMAGE - Basic service rates do not cover repair of minor flaws that may result from your move, including but not limited to small scuffs, dings, scratches, chips or snags in walls, floors, carpets, ceilings or doorways, etc.
- 1CM is insured to cover and guarantees its work against significant damage. The customer’s deductible is TWO HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS ($225.00).
